Fund Raisers-Ideas for you to Use in your Club

Many Clubs are looking for Fund Raising Ideas. It would be neat if we had a way to share ideas.
Here it is. Put a comment on this blog suggesting a Fund Raising Idea. I will incorporate it into the Blog. We will end up with a list of fund raising ideas to get us thinking.

Monopoly Game in your town

You can make a Monopoly Game specifically for your town. This can be a fund raiser for your Rotary Club. You offer the board properties, the money and other game objects to businesses and individuals in your town. If you do this right you can pay for having the games manufactured. You can then sell the games for $20 each or whatever you wish. The money from selling the games is all profit. Maybe you can sell 750, 1000 or ??  games. So here's the game that East Hampton Rotary Club made. New Haven and Ridgefield are embarked on this fund raiser.

Community Art

The Community(Rotary Club) buys plain white models of whatever is chosen. Kearney, Nebraska chose Cranes. They buy around 30 or so. Local businesses, individuals and non-profits sponsor these models and have the first right to buy them once they are painted. These sponsorships pay for the initial cost of the models.

So what fund raising ideas do you have. Put them in the Comments and I'll move it to the Blog. We'll have a list of ideas to help us get more money for our Service.

Cornhole TournamentClinton Rotary Club ran a Cornhole tournament. Cornhole is a game where you toss a bean bag at a board. If it goes in the hole in the board you get three points and if it stays on the board one point. It's a great game that anyone can play and it's a lot of fun. There's lots of fellowship involved because you're waiting around with strangers and friends. At any rate they made some money, had some fun and it wasn't hard. An outside company had the cornhole expertise, the main job of Clinton was to get the players.
That's Andrew in blue the President of Clinton
You need to ask him why it took so long to finish the game

They had lots of boards and lots of teams. That makes for fun and a good fundraiser
So other clubs, maybe we should have a series of tournaments in our District leading up to a finals at ....

Service Projects-Ideas that your club could use.

Ideas for Service projects come along all the time. It would be great if we had a way to share them
Here it is. If you put an idea for a Service project in the Comments I'll incorporate it into the blog.

Help a Science Teacher help their Students

Many Science teachers  use their own money to buy class room equipment for their students. You could help the teacher buy what she/he needs to do a class project. . You'd get to know a teacher and help the school. Sort of a scholarship for a teacher.

What Ideas do you have?  What has your club done? Put it in the Comments and I'll put it in the Blog

A pleasure to have our District Governor Jack Solomon at our meeting today. It's always great to hear all the great things Rotary does locally, state and world wide. Very inspiring.

Westport Sunrise-July 12, 2019-

From a summary by Roy Fuchs(thank you Roy)
Every governor develops a personal interest project for the year. His is the logical extension of a longstanding personal interest — getting district Rotarians involved in STEM education,
programs such as a high school robotics team. Here he mentioned Masuk High School in Monroe’s 100 member group.
He also mentioned FIRST LEGO League and the Invention Convention, both elementary and middle school programs.

This was preaching to the converted, given the success of Mark Mathias’ Maker Faire, our club’s involvement with it, and the fact that the club includes three Board of Education members.
